We're honored to be recognized as the 2026 SBA Blue-Collar Small Business of the Year and grateful for the team, customers, and community who helped make it possible.
Science Appliance was honored as the 2026 Blue-Collar Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Representing a region that encompasses 95 counties across Texas, including West Texas and the Panhandle, the award also included recognition from the Texas House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
As a small family-owned business from Lubbock, this kind of recognition is both humbling and surreal.
When we purchased a small appliance repair business in 2015, we never imagined our journey would lead here. What started with one technician, a service van, and a lot of determination has grown into a company that has served thousands of families across the South Plains.
Small businesses and skilled trades are often overlooked despite being the people who keep homes running, businesses operating, and communities functioning every day. From plumbers and electricians to HVAC technicians and appliance repair professionals, these industries form the backbone of our local economies.
While we are incredibly grateful for the recognition, what matters most to us is continuing to advocate for small businesses, skilled trades, and working-class industries that deserve more support, visibility, and respect.
We remain committed to raising the standard for appliance repair, investing in our community, supporting workforce development, and demonstrating that blue-collar businesses belong in conversations about innovation, leadership, and economic growth.
Most importantly, this recognition reflects the hard work of our team and the support of the community that has trusted us for the last 11 years. Every customer, employee, vendor, warranty partner, friend, and supporter has played a role in helping us reach this milestone.
We are proud of what we've built together, and we're even more excited about what comes next.
